Right now, I’m kinda swamped with work, so for now, I’m putting JacobFresco.nl on temporary hiatus until I have everything sorted out. Not to worry though, it’s nothing quite serious, just all kinds of hard work and lots of it…

So, let me end by wishing you all Merry Christmas and have yourself a great and wonderfull 2010! See you on the flipside!

Right now, I’m reading up on Joomla, a free, opensource Content Management System, like WordPress. But when I started with Wordpress, it took me about ten minutes before my CMS was online (okay, I’ll admint, the design wasn’t what it is today, but hey, I just started using the damn thing). Over the years, I even developped some simple plugins for it…

The new corporate website uses Joomla as CMS. So, instead of risking screwing up the live one, I decided to run a instance of Joomla on my notebook using XAMPP so that I may test it. I figured, since I was ‘experienced’ using CMS’es by now, I would have the thing up and running in about ten minutes.

And it was… with the example-database. I found out the hard way that Joomla has a somewhat steeper learningcurve than Wordpress. So, my ego got shot to hell, and I still have to learn how to use it…

No worries though, I’ll learn soon enough. There’s nothing a few dozen reinstalls won’t fix…
